A little movement on high speed is normal, especially right after installation. If your fan wobbles noticeably or keeps wobbling, it's almost always related to how it was mounted or assembled, not the motor.
Check these first
- Turn the power off at the wall switch or circuit breaker before touching the fan.
- Make sure the mounting bracket is tight and attached to a ceiling box rated for ceiling fans.
- Check that the downrod, canopy, blade arms and blades are installed exactly as shown in your manual, and that every screw is fully tightened.
- Make sure all blades are the same distance from the ceiling and none are bent.
- Turn the power back on and test each speed.
Assembly-required fans, such as the Sunnyvale, must be assembled following the manual step by step. Lost your manual? Find it here.
