This guide will help you set up, charge and troubleshoot your Solar Blaze light.
How it works
The Solar Blaze light charges with solar power during the day and turns on automatically at night. Its built-in light sensor (photocell) only turns the light on in darkness, so it won't turn on if there's light nearby, even when fully charged. This is normal.
Before first use
Peel the red protective film off each bulb. Leaving it on reduces brightness and can affect how the light works.
Charging
- Solar: about 6 hours of full, direct sunlight. Angle the panel directly toward the sun, with no shade from trees, roofs or other structures. It charges whether the light is on or off.
- USB-C: about 6 hours for a full charge. Indoors, use USB charging, because solar charging needs direct outdoor sunlight.
- Indicator light: red means charging, green means fully charged.
Installation
Place the solar panel where it gets as much direct sunlight as possible, away from shaded or partly blocked areas.
Turning it on and off
Use the button on the back of the panel. Press and hold to turn the light on or off, or to dim it. The light may cycle through brightness levels.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Worked the first day, but not afterward | Not enough sun, or the panel isn't angled correctly | Reposition the panel toward direct sunlight |
| Doesn't turn on at night | The sensor detects nearby light, such as a porch light | Test it in a completely dark area |
| No light at all | Connector plugged in incorrectly, or battery empty | Check the connector, then charge by USB and watch the indicator light |
| Indicator never turns from red to green | Battery isn't charging properly | Try a different USB cable or adapter |
| Connector doesn't fit or no power | Connector is upside down (some early units) | Line up the notch on the connector before plugging it in |
| Dim or unusual glow | Red protective film still on the bulbs | Remove the red film from each bulb |
| Fully charged but only lasts 30–60 minutes | Battery may be defective | Contact us for help |
